Castle Combe Circuit’s annual Autumn Classic historic race meeting has been shortlisted for the ‘Competitive Event’ prize at the prestigious 2019 Royal Automobile Club Historic Awards.
Following a fortnight of judging and jury panel sessions, the final three entries of each category were revealed on Wednesday 23 October, with the overall winners being announced at a gala evening in the club’s Pall Mall clubhouse on Thursday 21 November, hosted by TV Formula 1 and sports presenter Lee McKenzie.
“There were strong nominations across all categories, so finding the top three was a tough task for the judges,” the Royal Automobile Club stated. “The finalists should be very proud to have achieved a place in a final list which is a strong reflection of the health of the British historic motoring scene.”
With its eighth incredibly popular instalment held on 5 October this year, the Autumn Classic is unquestionably becoming a firm favourite on the national historic racing calendar. Never failing to attract a thrilling line up of races, ‘star car’ displays and hordes of vintage club cars, it’s easy to see why it’s become one of the scenic Wiltshire venue’s most popular events on the calendar.
